About the Job

Who We Are

Velocity Bolting designs engineered products that solve the most complex bolting problems in the world. Our patented Velocity Washer technology is used globally by the largest industrial players, helping them work more safely, efficiently, and reliably in demanding environments. We’re in the process of launching our next product.

We have lots of a gritty startup energy, but we’re past the “idea stage.” We have real product–market fit, customers around the world, and growing traction across multiple industries. Our work sits at the intersection of engineering, manufacturing, and real-world industrial application - where problems are hard, constraints are real, and solutions actually matter.

As we grow, we’re focused on building a team that:
  • Works collaboratively to solve complex problems.
  • Cares about building a sustainable, long-term business.
  • Takes pride in doing high-quality work.
  • And genuinely enjoys working together along the way.

This is not a grind-for-the-sake-of-grinding culture. We believe in working hard on meaningful problems, supporting each other, and building something we’re proud of together.

The Mission

Build and run the engine that makes Velocity Bolting known to its market before sales makes contact. Make sure that industrial buyers, defence primes, and international distributors arrive already understanding what problems our products solve, and a growing share of qualified opportunities come inbound.

You are a video-first content specialist who can convert attention into pipeline.

Why Now

Our video content has already generated over 75,000,000 views. The machine works. We need someone to build the capacity to run it at scale.
You're also joining at a pivotal moment. We're designing and building a new R&D lab and we intend to document that entire journey - the design, the testing, the wins, and the failures - and share it with the market in real time. That series is yours to launch and own.

What Success Looks Like

This role is measured against a hiring scorecard with specific, agreed targets. These are the outcomes — how you hit them is up to you. Directionally, in your first 12 months you would:
  • Deliver a steady flow of marketing-qualified leads into the sales pipeline
  • Ship a sustained cadence of finished video - building to roughly 8 published videos per month
  • Launch the R&D lab build series by November 2026 and publish at least one full update per week through construction and commissioning
  • Take full accountability for paid media within 60 days, and drive cost per qualified lead down to target on a defined monthly budget
  • Own and execute ~5 conferences or trade shows
You'll see the full scorecard with exact numbers and dates during the interview process. We want you to know what you’ll be measured against before you accept any offer. This needs to be a good fit both ways.

What You'll Own

Strategy & Direction:
  • Own the marketing strategy. You're making the recommendations, not waiting to be told what to do
  • Decide where effort and budget go based on what the data says is working - and change course when it says otherwise
  • Bring us a plan and a point of view. We'll tell you what the business needs to achieve; how we get there is your call
  • Report on results honestly, including the things that didn't work
Video Production:
  • Own video end-to-end: concept, storyboarding where needed, filming, editing, and launch
  • Produce motion graphics and video assets supporting product, sales, and social content
  • Document the design, build-out, and testing of our new R&D lab (including what doesn't work!) for external audiences
Brand & Content:
  • Evolve our brand messaging: who we are, what we care about, and how we talk about our products across every audience.
  • Build and maintain brand assets, templates, and visual guidelines
  • Write blog posts and other long-form content.
Demand Generation & Paid Media:
  • Launch, manage, and optimize paid and organic campaigns across all the social platforms.
  • Own cost per qualified lead as a number you report on monthly and act on.
  • Update and maintain the website and landing pages.
Sales Support:
  • Support the sales team with ad hoc marketing requests as deals and opportunities arise.
  • Drive top-of-funnel activity that puts our sales team in front of more people.
  • Work with sales to identify where content and campaigns can open doors or accelerate conversations already in motion.
Events & PR:
  • Plan and attend trade shows and conferences, including booth materials, logistics, and lead capture.
  • Draft and coordinate press releases, PR outreach, and company announcements.

What We're Looking For

We care more about what you can do than how long you've been doing it.
You need to pull the story out of the people who hold it. Our founding team knows exactly why our technology matters - get that out of their heads, into plain language, and in front of the market. If you're the kind of person who asks good questions and can sit with an engineer for an hour and come away with a story, you'll do well here. Everything else on this list can be learned.
  • 1+ year in a marketing role combining content, digital, and campaign management. New graduates are welcome to apply on the strength of merit and portfolio.
  • Video craft: you shoot and edit to a publishable standard without supervision.
  • Finishing: you take projects from idea to launched, polished output without being chased.
  • Writing range: you adapt tone across technical buyers, defence procurement, and distributors without losing our voice.
  • Paid media numeracy: you read campaign data, act on it, and can defend a spend decision with numbers.
  • Technical uptake: you'll learn bolting, flanges, galling, and the surrounding vocabulary well enough to write credibly for engineers within 90 days.
  • Resourcefulness: we're a small team with no adjacent marketing support. You'll build a backlog and work to a plan rather than winging it.
  • Collaboration: you can get engineers to sit down, go on camera, and give you their time. You can direct content and give feedback to the people involved.
  • AI fluency: you use current tools to compress production time without letting quality slip, and you're curious about what they can do that wasn't possible last year.
  • A+: willingness to be on camera yourself
  • Comfortable with design and video tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or equivalent)
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada, and able to travel roughly once a quarter for a few days at a time to support trade show activity

Share in the Upside

We believe in sharing success. If you grow our audience, you'll be compensated for it and share in the upside as it grows. We'll define the specific structure with you before an offer is made.

How We Work

This is a hybrid role. We understand that people are people and things come up. We're not here to watch the clock. We trust you’ll get the work done. We’d want you to be in the office at least 3 out of 5 days a week.

We offer a health spending account that's flexible in what you use it for, including extended medical and travel coverage.

Growth

This role has significant room to grow as Velocity Bolting scales internationally. Expanded responsibilities may include broader go-to-market execution across our global markets, building out your own team, and getting involved in other aspects of the business. All growth will be based on performance and business needs.

How to Apply

Send your resume and a portfolio to careers@velocitybolting.com. Your portfolio matters more than your resume. We will only proceed with interviews with candidates that submit a portfolio. We want to see video you shot and edited and other content you’ve created. If you have numbers attached to any of it, include them.
